Right handed - shirts face left.

I'm really picky about that. Pants, I don't care so much...but all my shirts have to face the same direction (which happens to be left). Also, hangars always have to be hooked towards the pole.

Well, the hook part is only logical. Otherwise you'd have to lift it, move it back, then under, and then towards you.

I know people who don't really care though. My roommate is like that. It bothers the hell out of me. I'm going to go fix his shirts right now...brb.

The weird thing is, my roommate is actually OCD and I'm not. There is a strange line down the middle of our room where his side sort of sparkles and my side is just piles of clothes and supplies. Sometimes he just gets into one of his sprees and cleans the entire room.

Mine face to the left an dhere's why:
I'm right handed
I put the shirt on the hanger with the shirt facing me.
Since I'm Right Handed, I then drop my left hand and use my right to hang up the shirt.
This results in the shirt facing to the left.

My wife of course always faces shirts to the right...

Posting from a hotel with a crappy internet so let's see if the poll goes through....

Bolded part assumes you always have it so the hanger "hook" is always open to the left. If the "hook" is open to the right, you might be more apt to have the open part of your shirt facing to the right.

But I also use my right hand to take the hanger off the rod so it's already facing with the opening to the left...

My closet is a walk in closet. The shirts can't face to the right or left, it is impossible. They can only face forwards or backwards.
That said, tshirts are random, my button up shirts are all facing forwards.

Huh? So you stand at the end of the rack and blindly grab a shirt while they face directly at you?

We're talking about when you are standing next to your shirts looking at them to get one out or to hang one up, which way do they face?

Whichever way I happen to hang it.

I never even thought about this ever, until I read this thread. I have no idea which way my shirts face. Probably evenly distributed, every which way.

I keep mine in one big stack, folded, face up. No, not fancy folded, I mean fold the sleeves in, fold it vertically (hot dog), then fold it horizontally (hamburger). I generally wear whatever happens to be on the top of the stack, though I'll sometimes fish around a little if I pick one I don't really want to wear that day.

Thought I'd throw that in there for those that have problems visualizing and need to go back to kindergarten terminology :p
