That's definitely true...I'd rather be in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt then bundled up in a parka...

I lived just south of Brunswick, GA (Kingsland-there's a sub base there) for 14 years. If there is a more hot or humid place I don't ever want to go there.

That pretty much sums it up. Once you start dropping south off the piedmont into the coastal plains it's pretty much hell regardless of what southern state you're in. North GA is hot and humid in the summer, but there is a big difference between 1400 feet in Atlanta and sea-level inferno in, say, Albany.

Plus you have the added joy of gnats (invisible flying teeth with wings) once you get south of Macon.

Anyone who says anything other than Florida, has never spent an August Summer day in Floridas infamous humidity.
Agree. I did boot camp in Orlando in June, July, and August. It was a regular occurance for some of the snow birds in our company to passout when we would stand for long periods out in the sun. The heat and humidity did not really seem all that different from Virginia in the summer but the sun was way more intense.

I have lived in FL, MS, and now in LA. LA is the hottest due to the humidity. There is only about 2 weeks a year that I have to wear a long sleeve shirt or jacket. Two weeks on either side of that "cold" spell are nice but the rest of the year is hot as hell.

Heh...we had a day when 28 of the 60 in my basic platoon passed out due to the heat...this was in South Carolina though...

or some crazy slackjawed Cajun with a shotgun protecting his moonshine still from you, probably thinking all the while that you're the scouts for the invading Red Army (Louisiana).
Hey, thanks alot for insulting my heritage.

I think it's a tie between Southern Louisiana and Central Florida.

Wow...Florida and Louisiana are owning this thing!

Does the hotness just skip by Mississippi and Alabama?

South Florida has nothing on Texas. I lived in Miami for a while and now live in Houston. Houston in the summer is Miami +5 or 10 degrees. No tropical breezes for us either.

Louisiana in August is almost like Hell on Earth. It can be suffocating, like uncapping a pot of boiling water and inhaling the steam. But, the hottest place I've ever been to is Phoenix, Arizona. It was 113'F when I was in Phoenix, and I don't give a damn what people say about 'dry' vs. 'humid' heat, it felt every bit of 113'F.

It's a choice between two evils: Which would you rather do, stick your head in an oven (dry heat), or in a pressure cooker (moist heat), then inhale deeply?

Not much, apparently. ;)

If you voted and have not been to Southern Louisiana, then you do not know what sweltering, agonizing, excruciating humidity and heat is....
