Poll: Which Software DVD Player? PowerDVD? WinDVD? Other?

Whichever is free and comes bundled. I like using Videolan on computers that doesn't have any software DVD player since it's open source and free download. So I guess VLC=best since it's free.

vlc player.. if not powerdvd..

vlc will let you skip through all forced trailers (forced anything actually) heck it even starts you at the main menu right when you open the dvd

PowerDVD mainly, because it came with my notebook. Last notebook came with WinDVD. Both were fairly nice, but I haven't used the latest versions of WinDVD or PowerDVD.

I currently have WinDVD installed since it came with some PC component i bought.
I think i have PowerDVD as well, it just musta been lower on the pile of CDs than WinDVD when i was installing.
IOW, i really don't care.

I also use VLC (please add that to your poll) for previewing/playing movies before i burn them, etc.

Nice link Megaworks...i'd love if that was true...then i could move to Cali easily 😀

I use PowerDVD now.

I still remember the "best" software DVD player I had a while back was an old Cinemaster that I used on my PII-266MHz with 64MB of EDO RAM. It played DVD movies without any choppiness (as long as I didn't do anything else). Now, that was one good software decoder if it could pull that off. Nothing came close to it.
