Almost always number pad. The top row is just too far for me without looking.

At work, where there's a lot of programming, almost everyone uses numberpad. However, I've seen a couple people able to use the top row numbers damn fast without looking.

I wish I was better with the top row so I wouldnt need such a wide keyboard.... My keyboard tray necessitates a mini-keyboard and I could have so much better of a keyboard if I didnt have to worry about turning numlock on and off all of the time to get to home, end, pgup and pgdown

Damn, didn't think I was in the minority. I primarily use the top row of numbers, unless I'm punching in something I know, such as my SS#, address, or phone number. Then I'll punch it in with the numpad.

I'm used to typing with the top row since 99% of my time on the keyboard is with the letters so I use that.

Well right now I use the top row because my right arm is broken and in a sling so I do everything with my left hand. (luckily I'm a lefty)

Same here. If I'm typing all numbers, then I switch to the numpad. If it's just a couple numbers mixed in with words and such, then I just use the top row because I don't have to pick up my whole hand.
