I wouldn't buy a table new. There are too many great deals to be had on local used ones. People get them and realize that they take up about the same space as a car in your house. Not to mention the space around it that you need to keep clear to play. Then they sell them at a big loss. We got a pretty good table for $100. It wasn't ornate like those, but it was a full size table and dirt cheap. The real problem then is moving it. We hired a moving company. They brought in 4 huge guys (much bigger than all of my computer geek friends combined), and they lifted it up over a balcony.

it's a new house for me so this table is just as much as any other piece furniture for me. therefore, it has to look semi-good. I did find a lot of good deals like you said on craigslist where people have to move in a hurry and so they darn near give them away, but you have to come haul it yourself. as for the problem of taking up too much room, I'm actually going to put this in the formal dining room as I will at the most use this room 3 times a year, which leaves the rest of the time unused. To solve this problem, the table I'm getting (option 1) comes with a dining top that looks pretty good so All I have to do is bring in some chairs and I will have my formal dining table. for the rest of the 362 days, my friends and I get to enjoy playing pool on my nice table

I've got a ~15 year old Meucci I won - it's the only cue I have that's worth a damn or a dime.

For the OP - I of your picks, I prefer option one, but I really prefer both of the picks from OdiN to either of yours, especially the Manhattan. Better yet would be the Sedona - it looks similar to/the same as the Manhattan but in a brown finish.

John has been making cues for a VERY long time, he is the only guy out there as far as I still know that actually dyes his ivory, he also uses a backwards joint where the shaft holds the pin that screws into the forearm.

Nice, i would bet its an original. Does it say Meucci Original in white block (non script) letters on the butt?
If so, its a collectors item.
