Poll: Which Operating system do you use?

no one here could possibly use an OS that's not on that extremely exhaustive list

At least add "other".

I voted Mac OS X because thats the only one I use on that poll. Of course, if Grommet5 did a search on this s/he would have found a few dozen threads on this with a couple dozen different OSes listed.

hmm, i thought Linux was a server operating system, not a deskop one. Oh well, i updated the poll for the Linux fellows. 🙂

I use Windows XP, Windows 2000 Professional, and Windows 98...

I want to use NT 4 on my old machine, but I couldn't get it working right so I went with 98 for now. I will try again later.

Where did the poll say anything about a desktop OS?

It doesn't, but i assumed Linux was not a desktop operating system. 🙂

I've been gone a while, so I'm glad to see some things never change... like the ceaseless "what OS do you use" polls 😉

XP Pro here.

Well, awhile back, i started a whats the best pornstar poll, but i guess some mod thought men don't watch porn,
and deleted it. 🙁 Its a shame, it would have been a huge thread.

Wow! That many people have ditched Win2K for XP?

I have zero issues with 2K...it runs all of my hardware and software and is rock-stable to boot. I don't see any current need to move to XP.

there is no real reason, aside from a few medium sized gui conveniences.

The only reason that I switched was cuz I wanted to see what all the hype was about. Personally, I preffer XP over 2k for personal use, but would much rather work on 2k for business, even though I have had no stability issues with XP. XP just has a lot of every-day-user enhancements (ie: multimedia and pictures) which give it the edge over 2k for the home user.

What about Windows 95? Windows ME? Windows 3.1? DOS? BeOS? BTW, this poll is nearly as redundant as the weekly "how old are you" bandwidth waster.

Anyone using a non-NT based Windows OS should be shot. 😉

2K Pro here on both comps in the house.. Messed with Linux, decided not to use it.
