U2 is probably the better band, but I just can't stand them.

So, by default, my vote went to Weezer. I imagine that happened with a number of others as well.
 
I'm not going to argue, but I just think Weezer's blue albulm is one of the greatest CD's ever made. Personally I can't stand U2, but eveyone has their own opinions.
 
weezer is ok, but they don't come close to U2. I guess the reason why they're so close in the poll is that weezer makes "geek music" and this is a geek forum

If by geek you mean crap and if by a forums of geeks you mean a forum full of far too many ignorant swine then I agree!
 
i think it has to do with the age of a majority of ATers. i mean a lot more younger people (under 18) identify with Weezer more and therefore the vote would go to them. i mean i think U2's older stuff is a LOT better than the newer (but still are both better than Weezer). before you flame me, i don't hate Weezer, i just think that U2 is a much better band right now. in 10 years who knows....
 
This isn't really a valid poll, b/c Weezer and U2 are too different types of bands. Could you add a "want to see results" option?

They never have and they never will. Weezer is hardly a group you'll find people all across europe listening to or other parts of the world. I think only 16 year olds listen to weezer.

People's opinions can still differ though. Should I have voted for U2 because they played at the superbowl, or because they sell more CDs?

Weezer blows but U2, after Achtung baby, blows also. U2 was great but now they are just like every other aging rock band, money grubbing self centered bastards. Bono make me puke now. Sigh, I must be getting old because no band lately are angry or have causes to fight for. Everyone is so damn happy that the music sucks! Wheres the angst? No one fighting "'da man" anymore! 🙂
 
Um, I'm sorry, but U2 flat out sucks. Their music is on the same emotional level as Britney Spears. i.e. they are so fake it's not even funny. Not to mention they can't even write good pop songs. The Joshua Tree was ok, but it's been downhill since then. They get worse and worse with every record. Bono could fart into the mic and people would hail him as a genius.
Weezer's Pinkerton was one of the best albums of the 1990's, however. There are so many levels to that record, and unlike U2 it broke new ground instead of more of the same old crap.
