How the G35 is coming up ahead of the CTS is beyond me. I take it very few of you have ever gotten behind the wheel of a CTS. Car is simply amazing, 3.6L V6 good for 265HP and a 6spd manula trans to boot. CTS is much larger inteior wise and the way Infinit has been blasted about crappy interior qulaity, Cadillac gets praised about theirs.

Plus you can get a 400HP V8 in a CTS!

Actually, I think G35 vs. CTS is the clear no-brainer in the poll.

The VQ is a better engine than the GM 3.6L.
It gets more hp and torque than the GM (298 hp) and also has a 6 speed manual, so there goes that argument.

I'd say it's more fair to compare the G35 Sedan which had 260hp. Unless they upped it this year as well?

No it's not.
He's comparing the 6 speed model, and the 6 speed G35 has 298 hp.

Regardless, the '05 auto has 280 hp.
You're thinking about the '03-'04's that had 260 hp.

The G35 & M35/M45 are so sexy. Infiniti is doing really well lately. Hope they make the Q series as sexy as the G & M.

RE: CTS Interior
From the latest C&D Comparo:

"GM Vehicles aren't bashful about their budget engineering, and the CTS is no exception. The dash and door-trim plastics share an excessively deeps industrial pattern grain with disposable cameras. Only the center radio console with its rubbery matte finish feels fancy. Fuzzy-link cloth lines the trunk, and a plain plastic acoustic cover hides the engine with no more verve than a tupperware lid."

"Lows: ...dime-store dash a generation behind the competition."

So much for the Caddy getting praise for the interior.

caddys have more prestige, but i'd rather own an infiniti, minus the QX, which is so fvcking hideous that even the Escalade is more appealing.

More bits about Cadillac interiors.

Motor Trend on the new STS:

"...substandard materials inside this base model scream Cavalier cheap, not a luxury car north of $40k."

"Tap the dash, run your fingers along the edge of the console or door armrests, push on the floppy plastic covers inside the engine compartment or the cardboard like trim inside the trunk, and the car shouts lowest-cost supplier, not standard of the world."

"But interior materials and finishes aren't worthy of a premium sedan, and most of the interesting new features in the fifth-place STS are extra cost."
