I have 4 10 hour shifts... Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday... I only ever have to work 3 days in a row, but I wouldn't mind having the Friday off and working Wednesday.

i work 9 hours M-TH and then 8 hrs the first friday
then I work 9 hours next M-TH and get that friday off.

44 1st week + 36 second week = 80 hours

yep, 9/80 sounds good to me, my friend had that at his internship last summer

think about it, most people who are on salary end up working 9+ hours anyway, why not get credit for it?

At one point I did 6x8.5-9 as a marshall at a track.

Now I'm just on a typical 5x8. 3x13 would be a real punisher, given it takes about an hour to get to work. Although that'd be 45minutes if I was working 3x13 kind of hours.

4x10 would be very cool indeed.

4 10 hour days would be my preference. Any more days off and I would get bored. I've also liked 3-12's rotating to 4-12's at Motorola.

A previous job I was supposed to be 5 days 8 hours, but turned out to be 6 10 hour days. Two other sections in the were working 7 12 hour days (zero days off in a month) and 13 days 12 hour shifts (1 day off per two weeks).

i would love a 3x13. imagine a 4 day weekend every weekend. and honestly, the hours after work are useless anyway, since you can't use them to do anything but veg in front of the TV. i'd much prefer to work really hard for a few days and then be free to spend every weekend in the mountains.

i work a normal 8-5 with 1 hour lunch. i'd def. do 3X13 if i could pick the 3 days (not the weekend :p)

one place i worked had a 2 12 hour shifts per week (either sat/sun 11am-11pm or fri/sat 11pm-11am) but you got paid for 36 hours instead. I just did one sunday 11a-11p because i was part time. it was such a sweet deal... except for the no weekend bit.

I work an average of 3.5 12 hour shifts per week but the schedule includes days and nights, weekends and holidays.

ER physician

Can't do sh*t after work. And can't get a full nights sleep between shifts. Sure you get more days off, but it sucks to not get some time afterwork. The kids are asleep by the time I get home. And your not ready to go straight to bed.

I work 5 - 8 hour shifts and I dislike it. I would prefer 4 - 10 hour shifts and I would never leave my low paying job for 3 - 13 hours shifts. Even if it was Friday through Sunday. Someone mentioned how little can be done even after an 8 hour shift. I agree.

I know some people who work rotating 4 on / 4 off shifts. The first 4 are days 6a - 6p and then 4 days off. Come back and its 4 on 6p - 6a. They love it. You can always plan nice 4 day weekend plans because you know when the weekends will line up with your 4 days off.

i do some weird combo of hours to put me around 35+-3 by friday, then work half a day

half days on friday are great, i would just waste the day otherwise, but since its a half day its not too stressful

i also do 4x10 when i want a long weekend

im a software engineer

Before that (same place), I was 7x6 (with a few 5 hour days thrown in there) at the same rate. Wasn't as bad, but still pretty ******.

Now, I'm on flex hours, with my only set times being Tues for 4 hours, and Saturday for 5, but I can show up whenever else I want so long as I do something productive. THAT'S hot.

yup, there's nothing better than flex time :)

I'd prefer to have 4 days 10 hours and have Friday's off. 3 day weekends are awesome. I'm not working right now, but my previous jobs have always been 5 days 8 hours.
