i used to call them jimmies but after living away from home for so long i started calling them sprinkles.
 
funny story:

i'm from philly and was on vacation in florida. i ask for jimmies at an ice cream store and the girl just stares at me like i'm speaking greek. so i say, "umm.... i mean sprinkles?" and she says "ooohhhhH!"

then my friend says to me, "yeah they call it 'sprinkles' down here because 'jimmies' are what southern hicks use to call black people"

then he realized that we're in the south and all the people in line were just offended. i pointed and laughed.
 
conversation i had with a friend:

me - you know she's been around the block a few times right?
him - yeah i know. don't worry i protected my jimmy; I used a jimmy hat
