Widescreen. Anyone who watches fullscreen is a moron and is not seeing the movie as originally intended.

Anyone who rents/buys the DVD as opposed to seeing the movie in theaters is a moron and is not seeing the movie as originally intended.

widescreen! anyone who likes full screen is just an idiot sorry =\ you lose so much of the picture and how the movie was intended to be viewed
once all tv's go to widescreen hopefully they will stop producing fullscreen movies all together

Widscreen cause you dont see everything in fullscreen, besides many peopel have widescreen TVs, so fullscree=widescreen

well unless you have a nice theater at home 😕

id rather watch at home in my mediaroom...and believe me i am not missing anything except crowds and stupid teenagers.

I don't care. I have enough stress in my life without worrying about OMG i'm missing part of the picture!!! when all I want is some mindless entertainment for 2hrs.

People who watch things in full screen and have a choice of widescreen are fscking morons, it's clear they have no idea how much is clipped out when watching in full screen...

Like at the end of Star Wars Episode 4 - Chewie is almost completely off frame. I think you can see some fur on his right arm. And when full-screen videos need to pan over to show something important, it's usually isn't done too well, and it looks jittery.

I was being fairly sarcastic. I watch fullscreen either on my 2005fpw or 27" Vega, but if I go over to the g/f's place we kind of have to get fullscreen as her and her roommates only have a 19" tv...

Hell, even if you hate widescreen, you should buy the widescreen DVDs and then hit the zoom button once to get rid of the bars.

Widescreen for the win. You see more. The screen SHOULD be wide because your eyes are side by side, so they're built to accommodate a wider (more panoramic) image. So your ancestors could see lions coming at you from directions other than right in front of you.

For small TV's full screen is acceptable, but the bigger the screen, the better widescreen is relative to fullscreen.

BTW, this thread is in dire need of a poll.

Edit: Good suggestion PaulNEPats. NEVER buy fullscreen DVD's.

While I by far prefer widescreen to fullscreen for my DVDs (assuming thats the OAR as mentioned) what REALLY bugs me are all these bars, etc that have bought 16:9 HDTVs and then display SDTV stretched to fill the screen.

WTF people do you LIKE to throw your money away? Do you think that having a flatscreen TV makes your bar look better when you do this? You might as well hang it upside down!

haha, maybe I should start getting more widescreen dvds, I was almost gonna get full screen but i think widescreen is much better.
