[poll] Which Civ game is better?

I feel like playing one but I'm unsure which. I played Civ 2 about 3 times and didn't get through one full game of Civ 3 when it first came out because it was too buggy.

My vote is 2, I really enjoyed 3, but i found it too hard at many times.

I wish they would just remake 2 with 3's graphics ^^

hmm I can't get the music to work with Civ 2. it says the cd isn't in the drive. maybe it doesn't understand different drive letters.

I was the most fun. II had the best music. III is a big improvement, especially with diplomacy, but gets very tedious late in the game.

2, 3 got so freakin long towards the end. You could make and eat dinner while the AI did its' thing. It was ridiculously difficult even on Low settings as well.

Alpha Centauri.
yep. Civ 3 looks pretty, but tedium reigns supreme later on. Having said that it seems to me that all these games suffer from that to varying extents. In the end it's really who has the best miltary or maybe, if two sides are very evenly matched or allied, it mind end in a tech race. I usually play a game of Civ3/AlphaCentauri for 12 -20 hrs before abandoning it due to tedium.

Maybe Civ4 will improve this for me!

Man, I have dropped so many hours of my life in Civ2. That game is grade 'A' electronic crack. Truely the most addictive game ever created (just one more turn).

Dang, I'm getting the urge to play again.

I agree. Civ3 is pretty hard. But, well all know that both of these games will absolutely trounce on whatever the hell Civ4 is going to be.

why do you say that?

I wasn't even aware that Civ 4 was in the works (though I assume there will be one eventually).
