Bah fine . I think I'd go with the Bates. The Converse ones look cheap to me for some reason.

your asking for looks right? Because we cant know what types of things you like in a boot like Style, flex, weight, ect.

I need to stay comfortable for 10+ hours doing a lot of standing, running, jumping, etc. I also need them to stay warm in winter and be able to grip on snow & ice.

Damn those Bates boots look like they were ripped right out of one of the Terminator movies.

And is it just me or is 4.2lbs a lot to have strapped to your feet. It's been awhile since I weighed my footwear, but that seems like a lot.

Basically they have to be black boots. I have a pair of Ridge Air-Tac quarterboots, but the 8" look much more professional because pantlegs don't get caught on them.

I don't concern myself with brand names. If it's a quality product that works well I don't really care who makes it.

That does sound like a lot, but they're supposed to be a lot lighter than most boots.

They make good work boots, but they're not really geared toward police work.

Keep in mind that the only part that will be visible is really the front, because my pants will cover the majority.

I like my boots, they are still being made with some minor modifications: Image from Google, another one.
Simple, but durable. I have no idea what brand they are, since there is no Soviet army anymore.

I need something a little more modern, and I'd strongly prefer a zipper boot so I don't have to lace up everytime.
