POLL: When was the last time you used a cassette tape?

Just curious. As digital recording media keeps getting larger and cheaper, we leave old formats behind in the dust. To those in college/high school, your kids will look at a CD or DVD and ask you "what the heck is THAT thing for?!"

hahaha.

yesterday actually.... and guess who it was ----- ABBA~!!!!

seriously, i'm not joking. We were testing the cassette deck in a conference room used to record presentations.

To think I used to LOAD SOFTWARE (mostly games) off of these on my Commodore 64 before i could afford a floppy disk drive for it.

I think TRS-80s used cassette for storage as well.

I have not used a cassete since CD players became affordable. Over 10 years ago, probably close to 12-13 years ago.

EDIT: If your including VHS, then probably 4 years.

Tried converting some Cassette Audio tapes this summer to mp3s. But otherwise I haven't touched them for at least probably close to 6 years, if not more.

I drive a really old truck to work and occassionally to school. It's a 4 speed manual 1990 Toyota pickup with no power anything. NO A/C either. LOL. But it does have a cassette player and I still have some of my old cassetes I listen to sometimes in there. I've got plenty of Pearl Jam from Ten to Vitalogy. I've also got Offspring "Smash" and Green Day "Dookie".

a couple weeks ago... I have a few albums on casssette but not dvd/mp3. nothing I lsten to on a regular basis, but sometimes I just get a jonesing to pop in an old cassette in my car.

i don't even have a cassette tape player anywhere in this house. I'd have to run out to my '90 Accord.

And, last week I did a presentation that included an 8-track tape. Now THERE'S a company that needs to update its electronics.

I can still mentally hear the KER-CHUNCK of the mechanism switching tracks...

A few months ago I broke out some mix tapes I had taped from the radio when I lived in South Florida some fourteen years ago. Prior to that I hadn't listened to a tape in at least eight I would guess.

Last Sunday when my 5 year old daughter found a tape in a drawer and asked what it was.

BTW, the tape player broke when I tried to use it. 🙁

i actually found some old cassette a couple of weeks ago and since my car came with a tape player i started listening to them and damn have my music taste changed hehehe most of the tapes were dance and R&B now i listen mostly to alternative rock.
