1991 - 1995

First discovered local BBSs which were only good for live chat, forums and file transfers.
Next my friend signed up for Prodigy, wow that was cool back in the day.

1994 heard about this "internet" thing, signed up for my account, of course I only had a 286 so everything was text, gopher, mIRC, PINE, cost was reaonable $18 per month for 150 hours of dialup access. THEN I got a Mac Performa 630CD (think IBM 486) and discovered MOSAIC web browser, w00t!

This year marks my 8th year on the internet.

I don't remember if my first modem was for my Commodore 64 or my Amiga 500 but in either case it was a 1200 baud and it was around the '86/'87 time frame. I do know I was limited to local BBS's.

AOL, about 1995. I tried the web in late 1994 at my elementary school-- we had a T1 connect ;)
