wheeeeee.. i'm bored... 2 hours more to go for this newest mandrake distro.....mmm.. hope its not a waste of time.....

I like it. Of course I don't have much Linux experience, just used Red Hat 6.0 for a bit, but didn't get into it. Got it up and running, was able to get Windows fonts into it, got OpenGL working on my Geforce2 GTS. Next stop, upgrading to the 2.4.4 kernel. never done the kernel thing before. 🙂

660 / 8 = 82.5 KB/sec... thats not THAT much worse than me.. =P

at first i thought u meant 660KB.. then i'd have to envy you =P

ugh....i'm on 56K modem with 2.85lb/sec, i've been downloading this baby for three days, last i checked it was 85% done.

Bluga: Wow!! You are a glutton for punishment! 🙂 I have DSL, and didn't even want to bother with downloading the two isos because I couldn't find a decent server, so I bought the CD-R version from Cheapbytes for $10.00.

I've got 12 minutes left on Mandrake 8.0, it's been going for 7+ hrs. I'm also downloading Corel Linux 2.0 for my boss, it's got 1 hr. left. As for distro, I like Caldera and the new Red Hat 7.1. I can't wait for the new Chilliware distro.

I've downloaded the two ISO's of Mandrake 7.2 once... took less than four hours for both of them 🙂

Now I won't download Mandrake anymore... SuSe Linux is so much better. YAST1 rules 😀

downloading, but can only get 256kbps down, so it will take a while.

and I've got 2 computers downloading something, so that'll make it even slower.
