<< Well, monarchy wouldn't be on there because christianity was not the founding point of it. It existed before christianity came about. Capitalism was not built on religion and people who look at Bush as a god... well let's not go there. Communism was built on orthodox. >>

Monarchy is just one type of government like Communism. People in the famous communist state russia did not belive in communism, they belived in god, the followed the russian cathloc church (or something alike). They idolised lenin for what he did for them, the ideal result of communism was a good way to live, without worries about money. That was what people belived in, Lenin just tried to make that happen (that is untill human nature came in and destroyed it).

If you look at the oposide, the US. Bush, Clinton, Regan, many people idolise them to because they brought them the life they wanted.

Then you can also look at egypt, the faroes. They were considered gods, but people still belived in the crocs and birs (forgot names, to lazy to look it up). The Faroes were just their leaders, that was the government type. The religion part was another type, it just worked very very closely since their leader was also their religous leader.

And again, communism is not a religion.

<< I will give you that any form of Communism today is government. But if you were to study it, you would see that it states that only orthodox is allowed. Therefore it is a religion and a goverment. >>

That makes orthodox the religion and communism the type of government. This is simply a government without religous freedom. Any state wether it be a democracy or monarchy or whatever could declare that all people must belive in this religion, that simply removes the freedom of religion part.

Again, if you were to practice it as it was written, is a religion because there is only one way of living. The governent of that community controls your way of life, which is a religion or culture. I never said that they thought of Lenin as a god or religious head... that's not my argument. The egyptians DID believe that the pharoes were gods. When they died... they became gods.

um, agnosticism can go with most other religions, so it shouldn't be by itself. for example, i'm agnostic and atheist.

BTW, I took communism off, but it is(was) a religion and a government. I just didn't want to get any more involved in a penis contest than what was going on.

perhaps i should of worded my post differently, but what i meant was that, in addition to just having it there by itself, there should be like an "agnostic/other" thing or something. because how many people can say that they believe the existence of a god can be proven or disproven?

I was genuinely curious about the religious distribution here at AT. I would have like to have been able to ask that and not have it turn into a flaming match of who's religion is better that the others or whether or not god exists. It was just a simple question. And I care....
