I will be buying a house sometime early next year, but after the tires. :D Hmm.....or maybe not....we'll have to see how it all plays out.

Hopefully I will be able to "finaggle" a new nose in this coming year. I have a um... devated septum that needs to be taken care of.... maybe my insurance will be able to pay for it!

The first of the year I've gotta get another vehicle, but it sure is hard to decide on what to get.

Just too many to pick from!

going out on Friday night in NYC :Q

Yep, I remember those days well. $20 to get in, $10 per drink, money for the Coke-Whores that you're trying to get to go home w/you...get's expensive trying to get laid in NYC.

amen
but it's more like 200 dollars dinner, and 300 dollars bottle of Champagne for me :) no drugs involved (not anymore at least :Q) but yes it is expensive to try to get laid in the city :)

That's a great-looking car... but isn't it FWD only with the 1.8T? :(

As for me, I've got a lot of big purchases I want to make.
#1 on my priority list is owning a house, but my girlfriend is in grad school so that will have to wait until she is earning an income again.
Speaking of said girlfriend, we've been together since just after high school, so a little over 7 years now... a ring is probably on the horizon as well. Again, that will probably be after she graduates, though.
We're also limiting ourselves to one car right now, but we'd like to get a convertible (even if it's something used and relatively cheap) at some point.
I'd also like to dump some money into a Roth IRA.

So basically, I need tons of dough. :p Thankfully, we are virtually debt-free - other than our student loans, our only other debt is the $6500 or so remaining on my car loan. My guess is the next "big" thing that we'll end up buying is the car, probably next winter.
I'll probably get the ring the following year at some point. Once she graduates and is settled into a job she likes, then we'll start looking for a house, assuming we have something of a down payment saved up. As far as retirement, I'll just have to keep going with my tiny 401(k) for now. :(

Yah FWD only, but better than RWD on the Bimmer 3-series :) I live in DC so I will have to drive in bad weather sometimes, and RWD = teh death. Quattro versions of the A4 Cabrio aren't expected until Fall of 2003, which isn't an option b/c thats 1 less spring/summer/fall to run around topless :D Not to mention the ~$4,000 price premium for quattros. The 3.0 wasn't that appealing to me, its ~$8,000 more for a bigger engine, a few more colors to choose from, full leather (rather than leather and pleather on the 1.8T) and wood finish.

Definitely save for the house. A few of my friends are in the situation you are, and a house is a better investment considering anything else you buy depreciates the instant you buy it :) If you are looking into a cheap convertible that will allow for some utility, you should look at the Chrysler Sebring. Pretty good looking, with lots of room for an active lifestyle.

I actually used to live just outside of DC (in Herndon) and we rented a Sebring for a trip down to Williamsburg & Busch Gardens. We also checked out several battlefields and the Shenandoah Nat'l Forest. It was last October when the leaves were turning but it was unseasonably warm, and it was one of the best times we've ever had. That's pretty much why we want a convertible now, even though we're in rainy-ass Oregon. :p
The Sebring actually isn't a bad car, looks good, plenty of room for a convertible and the 200 hp engine is adequate. The resale is pretty horrendous, which is good for the used car buyer. Something a little more fun-to-drive would probably be closer to the top of my list, but the Sebring is one of the few American cars I'd consider owning.

Home improvement/remodel of my kitchen. Buying all new appliances, having the cabinets refinished, new granite counter tops, new light fixtures, etc.... It's going to be one pimped out Kitchen when I'm finished but DAMN it's expensive!!
