Poll: What's your most TREASURED computer component?

I'd have to say my Viewsonic PF790 monitor. After all, the monitor is used in every aspect.

Sometimes the cpu is idle, or the hd is idle, or a cheapo mouse would be just fine, etc...

But you are always using the monitor and appreciating the clarity and crispness.

Just got my 21" Trinitron, so I'd have to vote my monitor. It and DSL have been my biggest "Wow" experiences PC-wise.

Not my Nokia 21", NEC 21" Samsung 19" nor the Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS 64mb or G400Max do I really treasure because to tell you the truth, I haven't noticed if any of them helped me improve any in the game that I play the most. Solitaire!! (the one that comes w/Windows) Honestly if I did "treasured" any single item, I'd probably say it was the modem because w/o the connection to pr0n.......ahem..internet, it would truly "is suck".

Oh I don't know...my monitor I guess. That's the only thing that I got that made me say "wow" when I first used it. It's a Samsung 950p btw.

Sure my GF2 GTS and P3@980 are nice, but this monitor was a major purchase for me when I got it a year and a half ago. It cost me $570 Canadian. Now I can get it for under $400 CDN :| I really don't think I have anything that needs upgrading...which is weird for me since I used to always have something on the mind. Most of my paycheck that I allocate for spending goes to DVDs nowadays. I love my DVDs...damn

Probably my Klipsch Promedias or my Viewsonic pf790.
Not sure.

I've probably gotten the most use out of my imation/plextor 8x20x burner. Had a memorex before that 🙂.

Hmm, have to say my Geforce 2 64MB card. Does 245/395 fine; pretty nice for a non-Ultra card; and that's with the original cooling. I'm going to be putting either better heatsinks, or active cooling on the heatsinks soon.
My router is also nice - oooh, blinking lights...

i remember when my most treasured component on my 286 was an adlib sound card...or in my 386, the math-co proc...and then, my 486(sx30@40) got its first cd-rom...etc. etc.

now, can't really think of anything...DVD and speakers i suppose...

I say, its my off button. With out it, I might not get anything done. Which of course is really not a button, but something in software, and at that; it's in windows98. So my favorite part is win98......errrr wait that doesn't sound right.......but its true, 🙂. Ya, its a good thing to turn it off and just walk away.

The only thing that will outlast my Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 91 will probably be my floppy drive.

Other important parts:

1) Voodoo5 5500 sweet card
2) Aureal SQ2500 the main reason I won't use Win2k
3) Duron 650 which will be replaced by a Tbird sometime in the next 6 months
