I work in transfusion services at a hospital. So I deal with this stuff all the time. And basic typing is actually really simple. Just three drops of blood and a drop of anti-A, anti-B and anti-D.

And If you've never donated blood, I strongly recommend doing so. We're a fairly small hospital and we give out between 10-20 units of blood a day. People really need this stuff!

Plus you get free testing for HIV & Hepatitis, and a lot of Blood Banks are doing cholesterol levels too. Free juice, snacks, and T-shirts too, all for just 30 minutes of your time.

Unless you stayed for more than three months like five years ago or you recieved a transufsion, you can still donate. At least I did, but I was in Europe for only two weeks.

Universal donor...donated three times. The ironic part is that I was then blacklisted because I'm at risk for the human form of Hoof & Mouth. Apparently staying in Europe over three months total since 1981 or something puts you at risk.

donno..i remember red cross is after my blood ever since i donated blood because they say i have a rare kind or something...they call me to no end for every single blood donation event that's happening within a 50 mile radius of where I live @_@

...not that I don't donate anymore..I do...
