160 in my 1970 Firefird Formula. It had a 400 cui engine and 400 turbo transmission. Man I loved that car!!

First of all, indicated speed is not actual speed. You guys are talking about speedometer indicated speed, correct? The regulations for speedometer error are suprisingly low and can be off as much as 10 mph or more at 100 mph.

I've been about 190 mph indicated speed on a motorcycle. That could easily be in the 160's actual speed. Regardless, it's fast and scary on the public roads. I've been about 150 mph indicated in the Z06 and it was still pulling. I don't have the nerve to go much faster on public roads though. Not because I'm scared of the speeds, but because I'm scared of the law. If I ever get caught going those speeds, bye-bye license and hello high insurance rates. It's not worth it to me. With a fast motorcycle, you can get up to those speeds quicker than when you're in a car and back it down quicker as well.

On the track, I've seen speeds close to 150 mph on the straights at Road America in the Z06. You really have to be cranking on it coming out of the corner leading onto the long straights. Some of the guys that live out in the desert have topped their cars out at the 176 mph indicated. Out where the roads are straight and smooth and you can see 20 miles down the road. We just don't have that kind of room out here in the Chicago area.
