I'm getting rid of my Voodoo3 3000 (funny, how they got bought out today...) ANYWAYS, I'm most concerned about DVD video playback over 3D gaming. My choices (based on MadOnion Video2000 scores) are an ATI Radeon 32MB DDR or a Asus V7100/T. I like the asus because it has the TV out, but that's not as important as the visual quality of DVD playback. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Ed

ps. My system is a P3-800 (overclocked from P3-600) on an Asus P3V4X board.

The Radeon clearly has the best DVD playback. If you want the Video/TV out you will need to get the 64MB Radeon or the AIW Radeon. The 32MB Radeon has the same excellent DVD playback of course, but doesn't include the VIVO. (Video In/Video Out)

Final Answer:

Any ATI card. I am watching a movie right now as I am typing with my AIW Radeon. Very low CPU usage, and a great picture.

Don't forget the G450, Matrox has always had excellent 2D and DVD. I have never seen a Readon in action, so I have nothing to compair it with, but a G400/G450 vs a GF2 is rediculess. The G450 is alot better.

As far as TVOut, I would have to say that the Hollywood Magic DVD Decoders have the best quality TV output. S-Video looks very nice.
