wow i'm the only person who uses musicmatch...

i love winamps customizability/plugin support and EVERYTHING about it, but it lack's musicmatches tagging support without an external plugin (and i havn't found one i like).

when i'm sitting at my comp listening i use musicmatch. when i'm 10+ feet away i control it all through a little LCD on the front wiht a remote wonder, and for that i use musicmatch/assorted plugins.

Winamp 2.9x is still my mp3 player and probbably will be for a very long time.

I primarily use WMP 10 for video though

I still kinda miss the old Windows Media Player when it was just a box with some buttons in it. Six I believe it was.

It's called Media Player Classic and it's better than Windows Media Player. Search online, it's open source.

audio: winamp (whichever the latest version is)
video: depends on the type of file, but generally almost always either Media Player or DivX player.

I hate iTunes with a passion... the fact that if I double click on a file, it's going to play not only that file, but also every other file on the list annoys the hell out of me.

winamp for music, wmp for movies

same here

winamp doesn't work for movies bc the stupid screensaver keeps kicking in with winamp.

occasionally i use mpc for short clips bc it loads faster than wmp9. wmp9 has better library support imo bc of its fancy album stuff and looking up stuff. plus wmp9 has a better minimzation into taskbar and i like the crossfader better. winamp has weird tag reading and organization, but it runs very smooth and i need it for shoutcast. however, it really doesnt like my audigy eax whereas wmp9 has no probs with it.

Music: Winamp 2.09 or Winamp 5.xx.
NeroVideo MP4: Windows Media Player
Everything else: Media Player Classic.

MPC is the bomb. It does a lot of things out of the box that other players either can't do or require plugins to do. (Like reading .srt subtitle files, or switching between multiple audio tracks) It's also free of all the bloatware that tends to come with other media players. (WMP 9/10, Real Player, Quicktime)
