whose posts would you take more seriously?
a diamond member that's been here since '99 with 2 PPD or some newbie who joined 3 months ago with 5000 posts?

neither will not be added as a choice.

Join date carries more weight, but I'm not sure that either choice should necessarily be the basis of taking someone seriously.

post count means nothing. I just wanted to hit lifer and after that I haven't cared about post count since.

Edit: Mmm-mmm, look at that double posting action. How many minutes apart was that?

I think it's a combination of both...
But, I base it more on the quality of their posts, not the quantity.

oh, and if they say the pledge to the flag. :p :)

I'd have to say that post count is inversely proportional to how seriously I take a post. Anyone with superghigh counts quite clearly spends all their life here and has no clue about the real world. I'd tend to believe a person that posts rarely, but intelligently over some loser who posts constantly in the pathetic belief that a high post count is some sort of status symbol.

Nothing matters for me. Post count, join date, member status.

There are tards in every catagory.

Its more what they post that matters.

I don't think either does... If you're an idiot, you're an idiot. Doesn't matter if you've been here longer or have made more posts :)

Sounds like immature penis waving. I don't think it should matter at all, only fools think that that join date or post count directly correlate with the content of the post.

Now I know why you have dumb insecure kids who try to powerlevel their post count up.

The secret to running an intelligent forum is to remove post counts entirely. That takes away the incentive for children to try to ratchet their counts up by blathering endlessly when they have nothing to say. 1 post that's well thought-out and offers useful information is worth more than 10,000 nefs.

I don't think either is very important. I seldomly take anyone seriously ;)

but I'd imagine that someone with a low post count and early join date makes far more intelligent posts than someone with a high post count and late join date.

speaking of......

join date can reflect a certain ATOT maturity. post count can reflect a certain ATOT immaturity.

I'm not sure why either would matter. A person's post count and join date doesn't change who that person is, and what that person's personality is.

I would say post date. :) But since most of my posts are utter crap or useless babble anyway I don't really care. Someone else always seems to say what I want and they express it better than I can so I just agree with them, :)

Join date is mildly interesting - especially if it's something like June 23, 1884. Post count is mildly amusing; high post count = no real life. Content, while more important, depends on if they agree with me or not.

I guess what I value most is humor.
