It seems that there alot of people that listen to trance... personally, I find trance to be boring. I prefer a good Deep house or some upbeat Drum and Base. what do you prefer.




edit:these catagories are pretty general, if you think something is missing let me know. (If you like something like Acid Trance, just put trance. Or if you like twostep, just put house, I know its not really the same, but i'm just trying to get a general sense)
 
trance - 'nuff said

house - more clubbish type of feel, slower than trance, ex: daft punk - one more time

jungle - nohting you would EVER hear on the radio, pretty much hip hop beats sped up 2x

break beats - i don't know, you may be referring to breaks ala simply jeff?

happy hardcore - nothing you would EVER hear on the radio

gabber- AYB


i'm down with both trance and house. i started off as a true trance head but with time got really into house music. i pretty much do 50/50 on time spent listening. while at home i chill to down tempo ala streaming audio(flaresound), but in the car i'm usually bumpin trance, sometimes house, maybe the occasional jungle cd

Trance is like Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van dyk (songs like sandstorm) Often has long pauses in the beat. What most people think of when they hear techno

Jungle is like DJ Hype, LTJ Bukem, AK 1200, Deisel Boy (songs like six million ways to die) This type usually has a very fast snare and drum base line.

House is like DJ Skribble, DJ Deep. Alot of clubs like to play house music. They will often make remixes of popular songs, although all types to that.

Break beats are for Break Dancing

happy hardcore is usually quite over bearing and has a very hard beat.

Gabber is happy hardcore on crack.

I guess if you don't listen to alot of electrionica, its hard to hear the difference... can anyone else help me describe the difference?

Hard House is the best. 🙂 Get DJ Caffeine's Caffeine 5 and you'll know what I'm talking about. I listen to DI's hard house and hard trance channels a lot, with a bit of trance thrown in when the bass gets to me too much. hard house really gets me movin' though.

what.. no drum & base soldiers!! I thought for sure Jungle would get a vote! I guess its just really big in my area.
 
I seriously like most of whats in the poll...however if i had to pick one...it would be TRANCE...call me a sucker for cheese or anthem trance...a close second is drum and bass. Yeah...your probably thinking most jungalists wouldnt touch trance with a 10 ft pole...
