my friend recently bought a used 1995 Camaro V6 and he wants to race. He bought it with the exhaust remade, looks like flowmasters. the only other thing there that the camaro has is bigger tires and wheels. My car is a 2000 honda accord v6 LX coupe stock. what do you guys think?

wow, im surprised.. 2/5

as an update.. the 1995 camaro has 160hp and 200 Torque (lb-ft). while the accord has 200hp and 195 Torque (lb-ft). I'll get the weight in a sec.

ok.. the weight of the accord is 2948
while the camaro is 3436

HAHAHAHA, the accord would soooooooooooooooooooo whoop!!

How many miles on the Camaro... is it a fresh engine we're talkin about or some burned out V6... also 200lbs of Torque is not enough to push a TQ converter for crap... better both be manuals

EDIT: BTW tell your friend if he likes workin on cars he can swap out that drivetrain and put in a LT1 in that and keep the insurance rate of the V6 camaro 🙂

Wouldn't the Camaro have much better gearing than the Accord? Finding 0-60 times
for both cars would clear things up pretty quickly.

<< better both be manuals >>

Honda doesn't offer a manual with the V6.

Well if the camaro is an Auto at almost 3500lbs and only 200lbs of tq... prolly about 9 second 0-60... My truck was faster then that stock...
If it was the LT1 def Maro

Accord

the v6 camaro has to get it in less than 9... the i4 accord gets it in under 9 with 150 hp and 152 lb-ft of torque

Why do people with V6 Camaros bother racing?!?!?! If they wanted to race they should have bought the real Camaro😀 I think the Accord should win.

FreAk😛

There's no way an Accord V6 does 60 in 7.5 stock. My sister just replaced a '97 Prelude SH with a 2001 Accord EX V6 and there is no way that they are even in the same speed class. The Prelude did 60 in just under 7 seconds stock btw..

The Accord is torquey off the line, but I would be willing to bet that the Camaro would beat it because the 3.8L V-6 is a pretty nice engine.

Answer me this.. I know that the Accord V6 is an auto, but how about the Camaro? Stick or auto? That could make the difference right there. Also, you mention that he got bigger wheels and tires. I trust that he kept the aspect ratio close to stock? If the overall diameter of the wheels are smaller than stock, he will be quicker to 60, but if they are bigger than stock, he would be slower to 60 and have a higher top speed.

Correct me if im wrong but there are different models of the camaro for 1995. there is the 3.4L, the 3.8L for the V6 model. The 3.4L has 160/200 hp/torque respectively. the 3.8L has 200/220 (or 215) hp/torque respectively. Im pretty sure his is the 3.4L, but anywho.. it's an auto regardless.. 😀

<< I think you should add "notfred's car" to the poll.

/me votes for my car.

Quick OT Q, what's the best time you've pulled @ the track with that beautiful little sleeper of yours 😉

<< This Camaro definitely does not have the 3.8L. >>

What other V6 engine do camaros come with???
