Ritter, by far.

It's actually quite reassuring to see the responses. Thanks to syndication, all of us in the 24-30 age group saw Three's Company growing up and became good friends with Jack Tripper. I thought he was the coolest, nicest guy when I was young - I used to WISH I could be their neighbors.
He's one of those people who's great personality came out on the screen. He's supposedly a great person and was definitely funny as hell. I feel like a relative died, you know.

cash was old and in poor health. his death was sad, but not too surprising.
i don't think many people knew letterman's fatherhood status before today, and if asked most people would probably assume he already had children.
john ritter, however, was (relatively) young and experiencing a revival of his career. i think his death was by far the most astounding of the three stories.

Whoa, I missed the Letterman news.
That is astounding.
Keith Olbermann did a nice tribute to that guy yesterday on his show. He was an intern for Olbermann in the past I think they said. I'd never heard of him before since he's a local guy, but it was a sad story.Originally posted by: Argo
If you live on the east coast there's another untimely death. Sean Kimberling (sp), the sportscaster for WB11 news (which I watch almost every day) died. What makes it even more unsettling is that the guy was 37, and he looked like he could be 27.
