i've read that pc power and cooling power supplies are pretty loud (not counting their quiet line)....how loud is yours?
i've had an antec tp 480, now i have an enermax 550, but i'd love to get the 510 deluxe if it isn't really loud.

I don't think it is loud at all. I have worked with antec and many other power supplies and I don't find that it is exceptional among them. The fan is rated for 30 - 44 CFM ball with 34 - 44dB(A) noise levels. Hell, my server, which sits behind me, has a 10k rpm SCSI drive in it that alone makes way more noise than my whole game rig, which is at my knees...

I have the enermax 350w like 5 years now. I don't think I need anything bigger.

Antec TruePower 430's in my work rig, which I'd consider my main rig, and also my home rig.

Work rig: AthlonXP 2500+ @ stock, 1.5GB RAM, 2 SCSI HDD, 2 burners, 5 fans, Radeon 7500

Home rig: Duron 1GHz @ 1.33, 512MB RAM, 2 IDE HDD, 2 optical, 5 fans, GeForce2 GTS-V

Mine's an Antec TruePower 430. It powers a Tyan S2466N with a pair of Athlon MP 2100s, three hard drives (an 80GB Western Digital and two 60GB IBMs, all 7200-rpm), and all of the other usual stuff.

EnerMax 431w powering a:

P4 2.6C @ 3.250
1024Mb pc3200
GeForceFX 5800 (480x1000)
8 hd's, 6 7200rpm and 2 5400 (1.1Tb counting two more external drives having their own power)
SB Audigy2
ATi TvWonder
Promise TX2 133 hd-controller

I'm amazed all lines are still noticable about their rated voltage, even with all those hd's and highpower P4 12v is 12.16v for example.
