Subway is great, but Wendy's is nearly perfect. I was going to say Taco Bell, but if they're grouped in the same restaurant as Pizza Hut, I wouldn't touch their food with a 10' pole. So guess my vote goes to Wendy's.
Wendy's is THE BEST fast food burger joint. But Subway sucks. Haven't you tried Jason's Deli, Schlotzyk's, or even Quizno's before?
I don't know about Jason's Deli but Subway is healthier than Schlotzky's or Quizno's
i don't know. when i go to subway, i just feel like their quality of meats, cheeses and bread is sub par with others. i feel like they have the highest profit margins out of anyone = less value to me. subway gets by with cold bread, below average quality meats, and only two selections of cheese. These keep their costs low, very low if you take into account their buying power. Then, they charge you like $7 bucks for a footlong with drink and average, buy it from your local kwiky mart chips (as opposed to schlotzyk's chips or Jason's deli's variety of drinks, chips, sides...). Lower choices means greater savings for Subway. Cold bread means less energy consumption = more savings. A number of times I go, I have to have the bread that they have "ready." They are not always stocked with all the bread choices at all times, lower costs again. Lets look at staffing costs, usually the biggest reoccuring expense for most small business. They have 2 or at max 3 people there, one usually being an owner/manager, and two younger people making the sandwiches (at probably 7.50 an hour). I walk into Jason's Deli, and they have an entire slew of staff, maybe 20 people at least working there. Higher costs, more attention to detail, better quality food. They have a full equipped kitchen, again more $$. Subway has a microwave, one sink, an oven, and one or two cheese/meat slicers. Subway usually rents a small space in some desirable or not so desirable location, as opposed to a free standing building like Jason's deli, or schlotzyk's usually has. Without even looking at the number, i can BET Subway has the highest profit margin, followed by Quiznos, then Schlotzyk's, then Jason's Deli. Companies like Jason's Deli that make great food at the same price as the rest would have to rely more on greater volume -- which is fine by me as it keeps the foods fresh for me as they have to make more during the day.
