Win Me - Home x2
Win 98 - Office Machines except mine (Win ME)

Found no problems with ME at all on conventional office machines and saves
so much time on loading up drivers etc.

Had a sick Win98 SE after those PacHell children techs screwed it up failing to install DSL. They couldn't even install the NIC card in 30 hours. I installed it in a few minutes.

Installing Win Millennium over that sick '98 Se fixed that and now it is running perfectly.

I vote for Millennium as the most stable OS I have ever installed. My Win98 SE machine is also very stable on another computer.

We got several comps, I'll go in order of OS coolness.

Free BSD web, mail, ftp, nfs, DNS, X servers,

Free BSD firewall.

NT4 server PDC, local fileserver, vpn, backup gateway, mail, dns.

NT4 wksttn my comp; runs mainly 3d apps and nonlin vid editing on G400 dualhead, 2x pII 550e@700/256 ecc (same as our webserver to the letter) and u2w scsi. Tried win2k, but my soft/hard ware is a little old... Didn't run 2k as well as it did nt4 or as well as my roomy's comp runs 2k.

win2k my roomy's comp, celeron 366 @ 405, 128megs ram, non ecc pc100. IDE. voodoo 3. Kick's my comp's ass in win2k... dunno y.

win98se on pent450/voodoo3/128 for games

win98se on Iopener... experimental...

A triple-boot with some extras.

Win2k Pro (I like the old workstation term better)
Win98 (I don't boot it anymore, it's just for testing)
Linux Mandrake 7.1 with 2.4.bxx kernel (I may switch to RH7 or Slack)

I had BeOS personal edition loaded, but I didn't see the point of it.

I also have VMWare installed so I can play with DOS and Win3.1 and so I can take a quick peek into my other installs without rebooting. Slow, but it works.

Dualie Boot on Both Machines
Win98SE(on fat32partition using partition magic, and some praying!!) and NT4 Wkstation on NTFS Partition (w/SP 5, and IE4 Updates runs smoother than 98SE!!)

and..
on a 3rd Machine (still tinkering)
Multi-Partition 98SE(fat16), Linux Mandrake 6.2,
and Dos6.22/Win3.11 (for laughs)

Sounds like fun huh??

k6-3 450@550 running 98lite
PII 450 running winnt/redhat linux
athlon 550 running win98se/win2k advance server
and k6 266 running 95osr2...
