The results really do show that Win2k is best all around OS ever! Three cheers for Microsoft (how often does THAT happen???)

I KNOW I'm going to be flamed for this!

Oh and I used to like W2K but it has been giving me lots of grief recently. My webcam won't work with it, the DVD software I have won't work with it. When I try to eject my laptop it often turns the screen black (there is a signal it is just all black) and I have to shutdown by guessing the keyboard sequence. It really annoys me that when trying to blindly shutdown the machine both "Shutdown" and Standby" start with S and you don't know which it is going to choose. It also keeps screwing up the modem, modem will dial but cannot negotiate a connection, uninstalling and reinstalling the modem clears it up but with it happening every few days it is a big pain in the a$$. Of course it is an evil winmodem built into the laptop, winmodems and win printers being some of the worst products ever introduced.

Also if someone ever wants to introduce me to the person at Microsoft that decided tht windows should be able to sort of handle spaces in filenames I will gladly throttle them, I don't know how many times I have had to change registry settings to c:\progr~1\... I will also glady throttle the person who decided that hiding file extensions and hiding files of known types was a good default.

I have a Win2k/win98SE dual boot. I never use win98SE, though. I set up the dual boot just in case, but I've never had any problems with win2k, so I stick with it. I've tried winME, but I didn't like it.

WinME here. Memory managment is the pits. I have 256MB ram, I load a program, close it and boom I'm down to 30% resources and it doesn't give it back. very poor memory management.
