Fortron 350W. I bought this for $20 and its super quiet. So should I put this as good stuff or bargain bin?

btw, i am running a cheap ass CoolMax tarus CX series because i cant hear it from a meter away and it was around 30bucks.

if i had money, i would buy a seasonic rev3 ones.

In the high-power class above 450 watts the Antec True Control 550 is the victor. With 495 watts the Antec power supply unit leads the entire test panel in the category of "measured maximum power." In addition to very good cable lengths and two connectors for case fans, it offers the option of optimizing input voltage as an equipment highlight. This is done by means of three potentiometers that are inserted into a 5.25" slot on the front of the PC case. This makes it good particularly for overclockers.

The Seasonic 300W is included in that test as well.

That is what I was thinking. I have the same Power Supply.

Enermax makes a more powerful 550W PSU, this would be their absolute top-of-the-line PSU.

550watts, why do you guys need so much?

I have a 250w and I am running @ 3.4ghz, 4 sticks of memory , 2 hd's, sound card , 9800pro and a dvd burner and my wimpy 250w does just fine.

I'm using an Antec SL400 400watt PSU, came w/ my Antec Case, seems to work ok powering my rig, but I'm considering upgrading to something w/ a better 12V rail as this PSU only has 18amps and I have a lot of fans... still good stuff tho, it replaced my my 350Watt Enermax PSU that just couldn't quite keep up w/ all my new stuff.

Good timing on the Poll, I am getting this one tomorrow and replacing my generic (Turbolink) UNstable 350w PS - ASAP . . .

. . . there is this certain new GPU . . . . . . i have been saving up for that evidently requires this power . . . ;)

:D

Haahaha is that the turbolink 350watts that comes with Aspire X-dream cases? Cuz that women gives me 2.6@3.2 but the 3.3V rail does drop to 3.17 at times. The 12 and 5v rails are solid. Bargain as it came with the case. I must say i had about 1000 experiences with ATI videocard drivers random shutdowns that I first blamed on teh power supply. I was so mad when I found out that some versions of Catalyst drivers caused my comp to reboot and become unstable. Grrrrr........ But yeah a decent power supply should be in order for me too as i really want R420/NV40 to run beautifully.

I'm using a Sparkle FSP350-60BTS.
I think it's a bit underpowered with my system (9700pro/4 hd) but I still consider it to be a "good" supply and I'm sure most would agree.

The turbolink that came with my asspire case (it really is a decent case) is an EXCUSE to upgrade to 480w so that certain UNnamed video card can slide right in . . . :)

I do know there is something "up" with my PS, anyway - IF i turn my monitor on before i power on my computer, the boot-up will fail. With the monitor 'off', it starts up, no prob. i daresay i wont even TRY the new GPUs with my current ps.
