I remember it being in the low .20's when I was a kid.

Edit: I have a hard time believing that anyone younger than 50 has ever seen it below .20 / gallon. I may have seen .19 / gallon but I can't say that positively. As for the one vote of .10 or less, no way, unless it was some gas giveaway promotion.

When my dad was 21 (in 1950) it was $.05. There are some people in their 60s and 70s here, I'd imagine.

I am old enough to remember the buck a gallon and a one hour wait in line during Carters time in office. When I started driving in went back down to 30c

You could buy SKAT gas for .169, when I was pumpin' it in the '60s. Sunoco 260 (106 octane) was going for about .329, if memory serves.
Buddy of mine used to pull in on a Friday night, in his '56 Chevy ragtop, get "a quart of bulk oil (.25) and the rest of a dollar in gas". He'd get me for that oil every time.

$0.399 when 2 stations were @ war with each other in Indiana in '98 or '99. That was awesome 🙂

After reading HappyPuppy posting that he remembered gas being $.25. I was thinking that he was a little older than me (47) yet I seem to remember walking to the gas station when I was like six or seven yrs. old and getting gas for $.19.

BTW-gas is not at an all time high when you adjust for inflation using Energy information Administration's data.
I remember gas in the $0.25 range.

Plus, gas is now quite close to historic highs (when adjusted for inflation, I just paid $2.37 today). When gas was at those historic highs in the late 70/early 80s, our economy was in pieces and those were very bad times, just FYI for foolish people who think that high gas prices aren't bad.
