128MB PC133
TNT2 Ultra(retired) - 1024x768x32 D3D
3dfx Velocity - 1024x768x16 Glide

I found the 3dfx running smoother than the TNT2, not even surprising. Oh yea, I have a 17", so I cant go above 1024x768 even if the video card could, my eyes hurt with 1280x1024@60Hz.

1280X1024x32. The highest my monitor will go.

ATI Radeon 64 DDR

Full 32bit color and 32bit textures with OpenGL S3TC texture compression, everything enabled.

Can you say beautiful and playable?

What version of UT are you guys running. With the version Iam running version 432 I can only select 1280x1024 as the highest resolution in D3D. Weird eh,anyone no why.

1024 was the highest I've gone
640x480 is better, I don't like to have high Res in UT....
The movement and aiming are more lathargic, atleast
that's the way they feel..

I've looked at the FPS, and as usual with the UT
engine, there is minimal loss with increase in Res
Just a matter of what you are comfortable with

I've ran it at 1600x1200 32 on this gts2 64mber and it ran decently, but I prefer 1280x1024 16 anyday.... all D3D

I have played it at 1600 1200, it ran decent, but 1280 1024 is the sweet spot, with really high fps.

Thats on my TB 1GHZ and Geforce DDR.

I currently play at 1280x1024x16 @ 72fps in Win2K in D3D.

I've tried 1600x1200 but the average frame rate is 25 and crawls when stuff gets intense.

1024x768x32 using the Metal API with the disk 2 high res textures on a Viper2 getting 50fps. Looks great, but I have since lowered the res to 800x600 because some of the maps I play are huge with huge poly counts, try out the excellent dm-Falkenstein for killer poly counts.

System:
Duron 650@750
Asus A7V
192mb PC100 @ PC133 CAS 3
32mb Viper2
Aureal SQ2500

You should probably try the Loki OpenGL high res texture hack/drivers. Should improve your performance and the graphics will be as nice as us Metal API users have! :)

10x7x32 is great for my system, when i run standard DM matches using default maps with just a couple of bots. I would have tried 1280x1024 if it wasn't for my POS monitor (Samsung 750s)

Now that I'm into mods, I have to put it down to 8x6. Still looks great though.

Edit: I use GeForce DDR so it's D3D.
