Poll: What information do you think a forum site should ask for from it's users?

I'm building a community based website right now, and I need to figure out what sort of information to keep on each member. Some websites only want a username and a password, and some want a username, password, email address, AIM, ICQ, MSN screennames, Time zone, birthday, location, gender, website, etc....


What do you think the site should ask for? (of course, everything but name password, and email address will be optional)

Right now the site keeps a username, password, email address (kept private), city and state. Is there anything else you think I should add?

that sounds like a good combination. just dont ask for blood type.

That's what I would go with.

Sounds good to me, unless you want their IM names too.
