POLL: What e-mail service do you use?

1. Longitivity. The best e-mail service is given by my internet provider, but if I go to another provider, I don't want to have the pain of telling everyone my new e-mail. I want an e-mail service that I want to keep for at least a decade, hehe. So thats out.

2. Stability. I want to access my e-mail 24 hours a day. myrealbox, does not have that. If I need to send an urgent e-mail, myrealbox.com could be down.

3. Stability of the company. I do not want the company to go bankrupt, and thus again changing my e-mail.

4. Accessibility. I want to access the service via pop3 through outlook. Like Yahoo was, now with Yahoo it is a hassle(you can't send e-mail through yahoo pops). Having a web capability would also be nice.

5. Price. I can make my own e-mail service, but that would cost too much. I want a low cost service, possibly a free one.

6. Not a lot of spam..I can take Yahoo's few e-mails a month, but no way in hell I can take hotmail's 90% spam rate.So people, which e-mail service do you use, and how do you keep one account for a long period of time.

I had a Yahoo account for 3 years, but there's too much hassle.
me.
- 3 yahoo accounts
--one for family and friends...almost spam free!
--one for spam...100% spam( fills my 6 mb limit in a week)
- one for business (sometimes business like to sell my e-mails, but I still would to hear what they say)

How do you do it?

why paulsonator.com email of course...

😉

For me, it's always up unless my isp's down... why? Because I run the email server outta my house. It's pop3 and web based...

Stable as far as I'm concerned also.

Have a ISP for family/friends, no spam 🙂
Another from ISP for Spam.

A Yahoo one for untrustworth people to give to and get ISP email when not at home.
Another Yahoo for more spam.

I used to have 2 other on Yahoo, but stop using them.

hotmail. exclusive junk mail filter, nicely integrated with outlook express, hell, it even rings my cell phone when i get a new message in my inbox (with from & subject!). seriously, this is one of the best products microsoft ever stole 😉

The emails go to my personal domain which forwards them to my college. When I stop going to school, I'll just change where they get forwarded to.

how much do you pay for your own domain. Please refer me to services that you have signed up with and you like.

I'm glad that you have finally seen the light, here's the most cost effective plan:

$9 - Register your own with GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com
$20 - Host your website content which includes e-mail and FTP from Dixiesys.com

That's an unbeatable value, your e-mail address will NEVER change again whether you live in Chicago or China it will always remain whatever@yourdomain.com

Plus you'll own your own domain and have a website to host whatever content you desire!

I would use my own domain for my e-mail but I can't find a cheap reliable host *cough* cyberwings *cough*. I'm too cheap to cough (no pun intended) up a few bucks to pay for hosting.

Depends on the situation. For webforms or anything else that asks me for an email address that I may want to hear back from I use my hotmail address. For friends and family I use my ISP.
