Poll: What do you use more, your PC or your TV?

I'm bringing this up because I just read a post telling a guy to return his GeForce3 and get a 35" TV instead since most people use the TV more than the PC. Strangely enough, I disagree... at least as far as Anandtech members go. I know I spend waaaaay more time on the PC (playing games, surfing, posting on damn forums, looking for hot deals, looking for mp3's, etc.) than I do watching TV at home. About the only time I ever do watch TV now is to catch some NBA playoff action or Fox Sunday night. I do watch alot of DVD movies, but still less time than on the PC.

I hardly watch TV anymore. With a nice monitor, vid card, and DVD, you don't need TV anymore. My gf has a big screen TV and I'm so put off by the bad resolution. You have to sit back 20ft just to see it properly. But if I had a 36" Sony Wega nobody would ever hear from me again.

I hardly watch TV. Only shows I watch regularly are: Simpsons, Yankees & Knicks games (though I miss some regular season ones, I never miss a playoff game), and Monday Night Raw.

The only time I watch TV is for DVDs or videos. I unsuscribed from cable a while ago.

I use the TV mostly for sports and some history channel-type stuff, and weather. Definitely use my PC more.

Well, the TV's always on whenever I'm on the PC, so I'd say both..

Pretty even I'd say. Although I only use my TV for DVDs and I rarely watch TV (usually only sunday nights).

 

I don't even own my own TV.
Have no sat down longer then 5 minutes for the past 4 years.
Only time I watch TV is for hockey.

I use the PC more since I use it at work, but even at home, for entertainment purposes, I still use the PC more than the TV.

I have a TV right here next to my desk, it's on about half the time but usually it's on mute while i listen to music and surf the net. The only time I actually turn away from the moniter to watch the TV is for the simpsons . And it's nice to have the TV here for DVD with TVout.

we don't even have cable in our apartment, so we in generally use pc more...our neighbors don't even have pc's, but they have a $120/month tv-cable bill every month

I only watch TV for the occassional documentary and movie, news (CNN, EuroNews), and to kill some time during lunch breaks
