If racism were an issue back in Puritan times, that scarlet 'R' is what they'd make you wear if you were deemed a Racist. But I guess your only friends would be the 'A'dulterers and 'A'dulteresses...so it wouldn't be all that bad...

😕

Put the bong down. Never read Hawthorne while you are stoned.

if i remember correctly, their "old" logo was only 5-6 years old....

Because when they played the Knicks in 94 in the finals, I specifically remember them wearing the older style jerseys, and i think it was 2 or 3 years after they won that they changed the logo.

Actually - it was designed by an academy award winning designer.

<EM>Execution of that directive fell to Eiko Ishioka, who won an Academy Award in 1993 for costume design in Bram Stoker's Dracula. Ishioka initially signed on to design uniforms but came up with a logo that was adopted by Rockets owner Leslie Alexander. </EM>
<EM>"What Eiko saw was the amount of upward motion that is unique to basketball and characterizes the sport," McDougall said. "When you look at the logo, you get the same feel of upward motion that the sport gives you." </EM>
