Poll: What do you prefer, AMD or Intel?

AMD of Intel? Gee I never knew AMD was part of intel.....

well, i guess you're asking AMD or Intel....in that case I would choose AMD

this is a lame poll. but anyways, for the same price, or based on price? i mean if i had a choice between a 1ghz athlon or a 1ghz p3 for the same price, i'd probably take the p3

HP PA-RISC or Compaq/DEC Alpha.

Intel doesn't do anything cool or innovative. The first time Intel tries to innovate with a chip, they have to get HP to do all the hard work.

AMD does the same thing Intel does except cheaper and with crappier chipsets.

I would definitely choose AMD over Intel any day (unless you're making an system with integrated EVERYTHING, in which the 810chipset with a Celeron isn't too shabby). However for gaming, I think that the Duron is an awesome chip that will give you awesome performance for it's price. (I have a Duron 600@1050)

I get whatever is the best bang for the buck. Right now thats a nice Athlon running on a Kt133A. Maybe in a while it will be a new Cyrix or Intel or whatever.

lol

AMD is part of Intel?

yes, well, it was long time ago. If you look in those old 286 chips, you'll see the AMD logo on the core and you'll also see Intel Corp 198x something like that on it...
