I must say Duron, performance and price is great with this chip. And it is easy to overclock.

I'd say it's AMD's Duron. Inexpensive, easily overclocked and impressive gains. My personal experience:

D600 --> 900MHz
D700 --> 1083MHz

i must say the celeron!
i see more celerons hit 1.5 times their clockspeed then i see durons do the same..

so the celeron overclocks the best in my opinion.....
the thing is.... a cheaper duron... say 700@850 will mostly out-perform a celeron 633@950..
so.... the celeron is the best overclocker..... but the duron will be faster.. :)

Ive read on Amd zone that alot of peaple are getting the 600 durons up past a gig and even 1100 mhz. Stay away from the lowly celerons.Ans they really dont overclock as well as the durons iether.

<< Especially since the Celeron is held back by the 66MHz bus! >>

That's the point, you get a Celeron 600 up the FSB to 100 you get a Celeron 900.

Personally I think the Duron is the best overclocker, the Celeron can overclock about as well, but the Celeron's performance bites, sorry to say.

read the sig, easiest o/c I ever did. I haven't even touched the FSB but I'm willing to bet it'll go higher. I don't want to push my luck though, all I wanted was to hit 1 Ghz and I'm satisfied. Maybe after the o/c demon gets me again I'll pump up the FSB :)

i couldn't wait my duron 800 and MSI Pro2A on their way to my hand.

i would like how it out perform the celeron i am using right now

what is the highest mhz can a Duron 800 go??

i am thinking of shooting it at 1.2gig
is that possible???

i heard that duron 800 is harder to overclock??
is that real??

The chance that a Duron 800 will reach 1.2 GHZ is quite small ... the faster Durons don't overclock much better than the slower ones, ie both a Duron 600 and a Duron 800 have great chances to reach 950 Mhz and good chances to go a bit higher.

As for the best overclocking chip, I also vote for Duron. Don't forget that with the upcoming chipsets you can run Durons at 133 Mhz FSB! :)

i'll have to say Duron600. it's dirt cheap and and will overclock to near 1ghz if lucky. if not then to around 900 in most case.
