I get completely different responses from people depending on whether I am wearing my glasses or my contacts.

People take me more seriously with my glasses, which comes in handy sometimes. I would say I get a little more respect with them on. Odd, isn't it?

I think the right glasses on a woman look great. I saw this receptionist at a place I went to do an install the other day that had these fashionable glasses on. All I have to say is, damn, she was cute.

Me on the other hand, I can't stand glasses on myself. I have worn them for 15 years, and I can't wait to get the money to get that laser operation. I think that people think differently of you when you have glasses on, whether they will admit it or not. Suddenly if you wear glasses, you are not "cool" or something.

I wear glasses, but I really prefer myself in contacts. I just don't think I am one of those women that look good in them. Some people definitely can be more attractive with glasses on, it adds something to their face.

Depends on the person and the glasses.

Make sure the lens is not 2 inches thick and you should be fine. ;)

I dunno how you think

<< contact-lenses are so much more convenient than glasses >>

With glasses, you don't need to stick your finger in your eyes, or try and put them in little plastic cylinders. With glasses, it takes .2 to take them off and you don't have to walk to the bathroom and go to the mirror.

I've been wearing glasses since I was in 2nd grade, I'm 23 now. I think I look wierd without them. It's become part of my look. I think it adds something to my appearance, I guess. I don't hate them, and my eyesite is good enough that if I decide not to wear them, I'm fine, I'll even drive without them. I used to be bitter at my eye doctor cuz he said I'd get them off when I was 12. At 12 it was 16. I stopped believing him, damn son of a bitch ;)

late.

Regarding attractiveness, I agree with most other people... it depends on the person and on the glasses.

As for other effects on appearance, my boyfriend is in the market for a professional pair of non-prescription glasses right now. He has perfect vision (grrr, I'm jealous), but thinks his "baby face" won't be taken seriously next year when he's an officer (in regular clothes, he could pass for 16 :) ). After doing some shopping with him, I think a pair of classy glasses makes him look older, more mature, and more intelligent.

I like my glasses, but never wear them out to clubs or parties... just to class, and when I'm lounging around. :)

i think glasses can make you look distinguished/mature/intelligent if you've got the right features for it. ususally a chiseled face or a face with sharper features with a high bridge (nose) goes pretty well with glasses.

Although already stated by vi_edit, I feel I should still be able to express my opinion: He looks VERY sexy in his glasses and I don't ever want him to go to contacts. :)

I've worn glasses since I was 6, and I feel that gradually I've gotten to the point where I look better with them. (I still don't want them, they're inconvenient) But alot of times I think they make a person look better. Of course it depends on the glasses the person wears. If they're big and bulky, they tend to look stupid. If the person is already a nerd, they just make it worse. Also I had a roommate that looked like Harry Potter when he had his glasses on (and I mean exactly like him), but without his glasses, it wasn't something you'd catch really. But I think attractive girls look even hotter with glasses.

For example do you all remember the pictures HappyKitten took with her webcam. I thought she was hotter in the ones where she was wearing her glasses than the ones without. (this is just the best example I could think of that y'all would understand)

thraashman ~ are you kidding?! o_O I never get any attention from males when I wear my glasses. :( If anything, they avoid me like the plague. I guess the "academic" look scares them away. *sigh* If we ever meet though, I'll be sure to keep them on. :)

sometimes it seems as though your face grows to fit the glasses you have, especially if you have been wearing them for years and since young. these people look weird if they suddenly start to wear contacts. but if you haven't been wearing them and just start to do so, it makes you look weird as well! (maybe not sunglasses cos you can't see the eyes then).

Some people who've worn warn them all their lives, just don't look right without them. I've worn them from 3rd grade till this summer, when I got contacts. I've been told that I look better with by some, and better without by others, so I dunno. I guess I'm flexible;)

Some people look better with glasses (surprisingly). I feel that they look more intelligent but that's if their glasses doesn't cover half of their face and the lenses aren't extremely thick.

I think glasses (the thin frame ones, not the big bulky ones) actually make a girl look more attractive. Maybe it's just that they look more intelligent and hence I'm attracted to them, but either way I find that I find a girl usually looks much better to me w/ glasses on. As for guys it makes them look smarter. Beyond that I've never really cared :).

And happykitten looks good either way (better with the glasses I think though). ;)

the worst part about glasses is when the little screw falls out and you have to use thread or a paperclip to hold the frame together, that definitely makes you look less attractive.

Some people are just born to look good with glasses, some not. I wear contacts though, since I've never liked wearing glasses; not comfy and stuff.

And happykitten, you look great with glasses or no glasses.

I don't need a mirror to put my lenses in and it takes me less than 15 seconds to put them both in. The fact that you keep them in a fluid has an advantage (except that it disinfects, of course): it feels fresh on your eyes when you put them in in the morning ;)

FYI: there are now also lenses you can keep in for a month because they don't block oxygen from reaching your eyes as much as 'old-fashioned' lenses do.

I sometimes put on my old glasses, and I immediately remember why I wanted lenses so badly: lenses let you see in a much more natural way than glasses.

HappyKitten

You look always good, with or without glasses, although without glasses you look even better ;)
