Question: If Fox News existed in 1974 would Richard Nixon have survived? IMO Fox News is doing a yeoman's job in brainwashing a large segment of the populous. Would Fox News in 1974 have changed history?

Faux makes me nauseous each time I hear them parroting their masters wishes. If I turn the sound off I must admit that their eye candy top top shelf.😛 They've redefined the word conservative and not in a good way.

Just look at what happens to any politician who chooses their own integrity over party ideology. Fox News isn't really a factor on this.

Nixon tried to represent himself as innocent and not persecuted. I don't think Fox news would have been all-in on a persecution narrative if Nixon wasn't on board. Trump has people identifying with that persecution and corruption targeted against him. Whatever is found can be spun into that narrative. For Nixon, it was either innocent or corrupt. Once the tipping point was hit, nothing was sustainable.

Aryans would be proud of this pic.

Nixon coined the phrase THE SILENT MAJORITY. Jerry Farwell republicans coined the phrase THE MORAL MAJORITY.
And Donald Trump the phrase FAKE NEWS.
This boils down to people loving catchy phrases. All of which are always nonsense, but what the heck they get morons elected.
If Richard Nixon had Fox News back then, old tricky dick would have had all the catchy phrases repeated on a daily basis by Sean Hannity.
So, would Nixon survived if Fox existed back then? You can bet tricky dick would have survived.
The secret recording system that brought Nixon down would have remained a secret.
The Senate Watergate hearings would have never taken place.
Senator Sam Ervin would never have become a household name.
And Richard Nixon would have sent John Dean off to Camp David to write his memo, then return only to be fired by Richard Nixon with Nixon claiming Dean orchestrated the entire Watergate mess.
Dean would have never been given the chance to talk. And had Dean tried, Fox would have destroyed any credibility Dean had.
Haldeman and Ehrlicman would have remained Nixon's closest advisors.
John Mitchell would have continued his full term as AG.
One can only imagine how America would have survived such corruption, what the pillars of American government would look like today if existing at all, and what corrupt presidents would have followed Richard Nixon.

Why, I ask WHY do you think Fox News was created in the first place?
To give creditability to crooks like Richard Nixon and Donald Trump.
Fox wasn't around to save Richard Nixon, but is fully devoted to saving Donald Trump.
That has become their one and only mission.
THAT.... and a dose of soviet meddling into America elections.

Spot on.

Roger Ailes worked for Nixon. If he was alive his response I think would have been "our network can save you"
