Not sure if this is the right forum or not.....

Purchased over $2500 dollars from MWAVE.COM for my BUSINESS.

One of the items was an abit kt7 raid.

The raid built in on the motherboard can't take over 64 gigs in a stripe..... So we called MWAVE.COM to exchange the board. Went through many managers before talking to the President of the Company. He was very rude and arrogant. He said that he no longer wanted our business and would not sell us anymore equipment because he didn't like us. I had used MWAVE.COM for many years before this incident and will never use them again.

Mwave rules...
Why did you want to return the board, was it defective? Was it Mwaves fault? What are they going to do with your used motherboard now?
Don't blame them for product limitations, they just sell the stuff, they don't design it.

Besides isn't it pretty much common knowledge that the RAID on the KT7 sucks?

Sorry to hear that. So he wouldnt exchange 1 mobo? Well I have bought from them before but just a few parts at a time. I know of a guy that has a business downtown(runs a comoputer gaming center) and when he bought bulk materials they screwed him over on pricing and shipping, they double charged him and that kinda thing, they didnt even refund him the money.

I wanted to exchange the board.... they ADVERTISED it as being able to do striping...... do you define it able to do striping if it can only handle 64 gigs? I don't care if it is ABIT's fault. I called them asking them to BUY more equipment to replace the ABIT and they got an attitude with me. I wanted to send the board back and buy an ASUS..... In my opinion a striping raid setup that can't do more than 64 gigs is a defect.

I had no problem with mwave until they started with the "don't tell me that" treating me like a common thug on the phone. I was not rude. I called and treated them with respect and got smart-A$$ remarks back.... I ordered from them for 2 years before I finally had to deal with them over the phone.... and the president rewarded my spending (over $2500) with "I don't like you, don't order from me again".

Well, aside from the $5 handling fee for Will Call orders and a ridiculously-long wait time (20 min) while they pull the Will Call orders, I have no beef w/them.

I did read a newly-placed sign their stating that if there are any defective individual parts (not Mwave systems mind you) that are defective, they must be shipped to the manufacturer for replacement.

Don't ask me, ask them on this.

Other than that, the parts that I've purchased from them worked fine.

I am a very polite person. I asked nicely and they got aggressive.... All I wanted to do was exchange the ABIT for the ASUS and got pretty much insulted. I have ordered and exchanged parts via online companies since 1993 and have never dealt with rudeness like this before.... even CompuPlus and Accubyte were a little more polite :)

Lets keep this debate open to people who don't personally know the company's people eh? Just kidding. I know this is a lost cause... just don't say I didn't warn you.

Sorry to hear that. I am like you, I have orderd 5 to 6,000.00 from them in the last 2.5years. I have yet to return anything to them but if I get treated like you did I would get mad to. Did you let him know how much you have bought from them? Not that anyone should get treated like you did:( Go to the link below and review them.

Did they just plain refuse, or did they tell you you had to pay a restocking fee because the product isnt defective?

Do you realize that you want to return a perfectly functioning product which they can no longer sell as new, and them to take the loss?

If you buy a TV which says it has 125 channels, and your cable company only carries 60, do you return the TV? MWAVE is not at fault at all.

vamp: Are you sure you were talking to the president? Maybe some smarta$$ tech forwarded your call to the mailroom guy or janitor for a prank. :)

I've never had to deal with their customer service before because I've never had any problems with any of my orders from them. I was suprised to see this thread.

Looking at Reseller Ratings, mwave is a 5.6 out of 7.0. That's pretty good. You'd think that they'd be a lot lower if your situation was an indication of their overall customer service.

Maybe it happened just the way you said it did, but I find it hard to believe that someone so high up in a successful company like that would say those things -- with or without good reason.

Maybe this doesn't apply to you, but I've found that bigwigs rarely involve themselves in the mundane aspects of their company unless the client is being intractable even after the techs/managers have already tried hard to work things out -- and when the customer is very important to the business. If they didn't value your business, why would the issue have gone as far as the president's desk? If they didn't care about resolving the problem and trying to make you happy, you'd think they would've started ignoring you long before escalating it that high.

I feel there's a bit more to this story. Someone should encourage mwave to post a response in this thread. :)
