I'm suppose to pick a name for a new loan origination software package. Which do you guys this is the best from a branding/marketing/name recognition standpoint? Not nessecarily the "coolest sounding".

This is for the mortgage industry.

Thanks!

Is the name supposed to be chosen with the general public in mind, or for people who do mortgage processing? In other words, who is the target market?

If it's loan processors, call it Tonto (because it's the Loan Arranger's assistant). Wait, never mind. 😉

If you pick Ace, Atlass, Peak, Apex, or Inspire, I'll punch you in the face. Not really, but I wouldn't buy your software.

Of the ones you listed, I prefer the ones with "Loan" in the name.

I like snap loan, but really it's the least bad. It is distinctive and yet not ambiguous. EasyLoan/QuickLoan/ActiveLoan is just too jargony. Everyone uses those terms in every product. I don't mind names without loan in them, but the ones you have listed are terrible. Avoid at all costs. That leaves SnapLoan, the least bad. Somewhat less jargony, a bit catchy, though not much, and probably more unique than the others.

You might want to check that some of those names aren't already taken and/or are too similar to existing names on the market.

LoanPub
Loan Publisher
Mortgage Pro
Mortgage Genie

(I don't know if any of these names are taken)

I voted InForm, because it's catchy and recognizable. Easy Loan, Quick Loans, etc... sound like names that are already branded to other software packages.

Mortgage Pro is taken. Pro Suite and Interlinq are owned by Harland Financial Solutions, part of the John H. Harland Company.
