After seeing this post, I wonder if there are any machine & OS indepedent encryption program for USB key.

Let's say u lost the key, your data on the key will be compromise.

I am looking for some program asking for password that will run from the key itself, perferably machine & OS indepedent, and not specified to 1 manufacturer , but such things seems doesn't exist yet.

 
you could put it in a passworded rar file, it'll detect if any files change and ask if you want to update them when you're done messing w/ files in the rar.
