Earthlink's tech support rocks. Smart people who seem to know what they're doing, and they allow you to let them know you're an experienced user and cut to the chase of whatever the problem is, instead of walking you through all the things you already tried because you know better.

My telco is Verizon, so that's who provides my actual DSL connect. I've had to talk to them a couple of times, and most of the techs I've reached, there, have been dumber than a rock. :p

Comcast.

And does anyone else have a long-running problem with them where webpages stop before loading completely? It's especially bad for me here on AT, but even Yahoo pages will stop loading halfway. My brother has the same problem with Comcast, and my connection at work is perfect...

they hate me, they've locked my account about 10 times this year for not releasing an IP

their service blips off for a minute or two about twice per day

and their upload speed is capped at 128

The one with the stuff. You know, the thingies. They get sent though a line with metal strands in it. Most of the time, they get to my machine where they mess stuff up.

Good overall throughput, but piss-poor latency and connection stability (though admittedly the stability issue may not be their fault, given that there are at least 3 splitters on the cable line here).

Used to be on Roadrunner at home, but my dad switched to Earthlink a few months ago since it was the same service at a better price. As for me at school, I honestly have no idea what it is. It's paid for through my apartment. All I know is that it works :)
