POLL: Typical Wal Mart experience?

I went to wal mart the other day and had a typical wal mart experience. Rude people who dont know how to drive or park in the parking lot (which is typically littered with dirty diapers and soda bottles). People crawling all over each other as they maneuver various tight aisles. Little kids taking toys out of packages and scattering them all over the place. Absolute weirdos who think they are on television or something acting out every single moment dramatically and loudly. And of course your assorted shirtless, shoeless lowlifes and other sorts of ne'er do wells.

But I did manage to find the keyboard I was looking for which unfortunately had to be returned, requiring yet another trip to the 'zoo'.

Whats your typical experience?

I take my kids (well not really my kids, I work with kids) to Wal Mart all the time. They love it because they can actually afford to buy something there. I've never had a bad experience. Once, one of the kids bought this christmas tree ornament for his mother and he dropped it outside. We took it back in to see if anything could be done and they replaced it! Kudos to them because he was really beat up about it.

I hate WalMart. I won't go there unless I need something *NOW* and it's 3am in the morning.

Your experiences pretty much reflect mine. Idiot workers, idiot customers. It's almost a "zoo", as you described, except at the zoo the keepers occassionally clean up the feces that the monkeys have tossed about.

Lines are usually fairly long..but other than that, I don't have any complaints...except maybe the older automotive dept guy who told me I could run Type F tranny fluid in my sister's Intrepid..riiight. 😛

If you people do not like Walmart, why go there?

I've only been there maybe once or twice in my entire life.

What possibly would you need to buy at Walmart?

I hate WalMart as well. I refuse to go there unless I have tried EVERYWHERE else. All they sell is crap. There is a reason for their products being so cheap...... Its cause they will break and you will need to buy another one and spend more money. You get what you pay for.

If you don't like it then don't associate with the common people

Put a sock in it.

People like you walk around in ripped jeans, a t-shirt, unshaven, and then shout "elitist" when someone is disgusted by the sight of your fat arse.

I will say it, and I'm not ashamed, there is nothing wrong with believing that you are better than someone else, or most people for that matter.

Because a sony dvd player at walmart is more likely to break than its identical counterpart at best buy that costs 70% more?

Gotta love your logic.

Oh and the milk I bought at walmart hasnt broken yet, or the food... weird, I wonder if the milk was refurbished 😛

Dont get me wrong, its usually always a convenience factor that makes me put up with everything listed above.

As far as elitism - I dont think so. A little manners and attention to personal grooming can go a long way.

I shop there quite a bit and never have had a bad experience. Their products are by name brands and if it breaks remember Wal Mart didn't make the product, they just sell it.

Someone doesn't do their own oil changes, eh? 😛

I've pretty much avoided WalMart completely. I've had some good experiences but overal I'd rate it as 'bad'. It's never organized, there's always too many people. I've been going to Target lately and my mood is definately 10X better walking out.

No I dont. Why should I have to?

I love Wal-Mart. There is just something about going in there and being able to find ANYTHING you want, all in one place that is so cool.

I can get food, beer, tires, toys, tampons and video games, all in one place.

My closest Wal-Mart is in a pretty nice area, so we don't get all the hooligans you speak of.

My typical experience is that it takes 20 mins to find a spot. Everyone is running of eachother, but most people are rather friendly, not to many rude people.

Then stay away and we'll both be happier.

People like you walk around in dockers, a silk tie, and multi-hundred dollar wristwatch, with styling gel in the hair, smelling of pungent cologne, looking down their nose at others for being the scum of the earth.

Having vanity and money doesn't make you better. It just makes you a snob.

Walmart is the only store in my area that has the items that I want for sale. All department stores in my area have closed down, as well as all but a few grocery stores. The grocery stores that are open have about 10% higher prices (on average) than walmart and do not have the selection. So, I shop at WalMart, its not that bad.

Not that I want to get too involved in this, but having a smelly set of pits and 3 day old socks doesn't make you better, either. It just makes you a slob.

There's a happy medium.

it is true. That is my very typical wal*mart experience as well. I do not feel like i am better than anyone else there, but i am so annoyed that people just don't care to take a shower once a week or whatever.

Long lines coupled with incompetent workers and rude customers make it not worth the low prices they offer.

LMAO. If you consider a watch that's worth a few hundred bucks to be expensive, you must be one of those types of who gawks are the jewelry cases at Sam's Club.

I have a $200 Hamilton watch I use when I plan on getting dirty doing something (jogging, etc).
