Poll: Travelling with desktop on airplane

Option one: Take as a carryon with enough room for one layer of bubblewrap for packing.
Option two: Pack in suitcase and check it. Enough room in suitcase for about 1" of packing on sides, 2" plus front and back.

Last time I mailed it, it didn't make it.
16.5" tall.

Carryon. Done it twice. Checking it is ASKING for something to get broken, doable I guess. But I wouldn't do it myself, period.

To save yourself some grief, you could remove the HDD, CPU & sink/fan, and other parts that could pop loose.

The current plan is to take it to the airport in that and bring a roll of bubble wrap with me. Let them inspect it, get a document, then do a final wrap in the terminal while I wait.
