What are the top 10 or the best games you can think of to play with others across a network?

I'm looking to go buy a ton of games and only have a few in mind...

in order from best to least, although the games i list are all games i love.

1) Unreal Tournament
2) NHL 2000 or 2001
3) Rainbow 6: Rogue Spear and Urban Ops
4) FS 98 or 2000 (of course you have to be into flying, and this is not the combat simulator)

believe it or not, all of these games run pretty good on my current crappy system setup. but i cant wait to see the improvement after i upgrade.:)

I think he was talking about Weapons Factory, it's kind of similar to fortress.

Warcraft 2
Starcraft w and w.o Broodwar
Quake 2
Quake 3 and Team Arena
Aoe2 held out attention for a bit.
Worms killed some semester grades.
Rainbow six alshtough confusing at first is still a great game with lots of people.

but mainly its Starcraft and the occasional card game.

Umm AoE2/AoE will hold your attention plenty if you don't mind getting your butt kicked around for the first few months or so. It's truly an addictive game that requires smarts, fast hands and a lot of free time. I think a lot of people get turned off initially because there's so many things availible to you, and everything seems to go by so quickly. Anyway, don't count out AoE!

AOE2 held my attention for a long while playing on the Zone... I used to kick butt.. ahh but I haven't touched that game since the expansion came out...

Truely a High Class game though.. worth every penny!

how could no one have mentioned total annihilation!? that is a great LAN game. also, heres something fun, long ago my friend made an extremely simple qc mod for quake that makes it 1 hit kills/gibs (we called it Gibber). this was great fun especially after having a few drinks :). when used in open maps with lots of players (such as hipdm1) it is great fun. because it is such an open map, you can nail people from the other side of the map, and they wonder where the hell the shot came from.

Strat:
AOE2 (not the original IMO. too many weaknesses)
Total Annihilation
Red Alert 2
Starcraft/Warcraft

FPS:
UT
Unreal (co-op is too cool)
Duke3d (yea it's old, but it has great weapons and cool taunts)
Qx (there all the same to me)

Other:
NHL 2k1
NFS PU (best arcade racing, especially with a FF wheel)
