Anything over 50 watts is nearly too large to carry and quite pricey...

Panels are generally about 4-6$/watt. Keep in mind that they don't generate AC power though, so it's not really comparable our household electricity.

And yes, I've looked at/priced panels before; this is why it is my standing opinion that SOLAR ENERGY IS A TOTAL FVCKING WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Bring the damn nukes back online kthxbyediarf!

I partially agree, at least for powering your house - unless you are off the grid. It's kinda silly otherwise, especially here in the Pacific Northwest.

I'm building a solar powered, TEC based cooler to use at the beach while camping, so we need a way to help keep the 115Ah deep cycle marine battery that's going to power it charged.
